Ping problem that never existed

What's up doc? Since you changed IP address of the server I keep getting kicked for high ping fluctuation. And I'm not the only one, just before I get kicked, I get red connection icon in my HUD, and then a whole bunch of people "leave". Any solutions on our end suggested? Or do we sit and pray for you guys to fix it? Good Luck in both cases

Well i had the same prob 3-4 mths ago .. could be u'r connection .. anyway prolly in 1 week or so will be done

Now it worked perfectly for a few hours... odd. I never had any problems with connection before, and this started exactly the same time as server transfer happened, so i thought it might be related.. Thank you

well we all get that red lag thing its a server problem, it happens random do no why could be a glitch in the mod, i also notice at night it goes down more then during the day. and when it comes back it goes down again after 10 min or so after the second reset it works for a longer time, but again it may be that the mod is unstable now that new things were added

my friend Lynxe have the same trobule with the ping.. he is so frustrated because he never had any problem with it.

i have problems with the ping myself that i didn't had before, ping is never under 120ms (not even at night), before i had 50...

yeah... I had high ping problem as well

But I've found my problem... 5 trojans O.o

the funny thing is, after I've cleaned them, I started getting ping kicks a lot more often.

I had 1 week on the server with 2 ping kicks, and in the last 10 minutes, going from Honshu to Dresden, I've got 10 ping kicks

My connection works very well, as far as I know... I get external DL rates of around 200kB/s constantly... it's not the best thing, but it should be more than enough for a game which only sends few kB between clients. I do a lot of things online, like playing chess, mmorpg, university projects, project-based-job (advertising Very Happy

) and I've never had problems (except for when my ISP has a huge problem, which means no internet connection anyway).

Now... the mmorpg works flawlessly, and sends, as far as I can think, just as much information between me and the server as FL should. And that mmorpg has a playerbase of 5k players, compare that to 120 max in HC Razz

.

So... dunno...

Another issue of mine is that this network board is 1 year old, so it might start causing trouble, but I'm pretty sure that this would affect all other online activities of mine.

If it's a server problem, please let us know

Maybe I haven't set my firewall correctly, or maybe the router doesn't do port forwarding right... but I do need to know where to look for. :|

it goes from my PC, PC of a nighbour of mine giving internet access to my block, from there to the big ISP for Bucharest, from there to 2 locations in Germany... But I have no idea how I can use this information to solve ping problems

Hm, I dont know how it can help how to solve but I know that it can help you where it is located

Then just do pressure there via calls, e-mails etc. May could help.

im having ping problems since yesterday: high fluct, high loss, but even not lag. Im not able to fight. and im kicked very often.
I never had troubles with ping (well, it always have been around 100, but always 0ms fluct, 0%loss and 0%lag).

My provider pisses me of sometimes too and when I asked on helpdesk wtf is going on(heavy losses, ping fluctuation, weird broadcasts on my line).. they just told me that my modem could be damaged or they just referred to fact, that I am not having a guaranted line and If I want one, I should pay 10 times higher fees lol I have " broadband connection " you know ^^

Yes, it is your ISP's problem. You are rerouted at the second hop to an IP (192.168.153.1) which is giving you very bad times. Call your ISP and tell them that the connection with their router gives a lot of high latency. This should be fixed pretty quickly.

Might as well post my issue here then.

The last 3 weeks, i've been getting ping 38-50 fluct 1-2 loss 0 lag 2-8

This means I cannot pvp.

Now of course the problem is the "lag", and the fact that i have no clue what it is, or how it is measured, so I wouldnt know how to fix it. (I know it wasnt there before when i started here)

Help needed thanks.

The 2nd hop is really very strange... It is a private IP address, which
means it must be inside of your home LAN.. So what LAN configuration are
you using? Is your modem connected to a computer which acts as a kind
of proxy for all other computers?

just a question here... I can understand why a high ping is problematic, but how exactly does the high fluctuation of the ping harm the game?

Fluct = The difference of ping on the way - so if you have one some "connection stations" a low ping and on others a high ping, you will have fluct (afaik).

yes, that explains WHAT high ping fluct is, but it doesn't explain why it harms the game.

If it is measure the difference, then I will explain:
It create some kind of lags because your ping is jumping all the time - the ping that you can get by command is the "ping in the minute", which is a good solution because you can have in one second a ping of 20 and in another one of 140, especially (only) if you are laggy.

All is afaik, so dont rely on it
