HI ALL

i write about this new thing the Max 65 player on server its not good when my clan wants to join HC the server is full we only play at night but we hawe no room so we cant join the server.

we like this server and we want to play here so pls make some room for my clan so we can join you guy on HC.

I hope some Admin read this topic and do something whit this problem
pls make more Max player on the server

Hi, yeah sorry we stand before a bigger decision.

1. 80 Slots and laggy pvp -> pro pvp gamer will leave the server over long time and we have a noob pvp server (there are many of them out there)

2. 64-70 (we have to test) Slots and allover perfect Serverresponse -> thats good for nice pvp's

what's your decision ?


BTW: We are in testingtime to optimize the Server, all could be in the next weeks ... but i don't go under 64-70 Slots.

nice ,now its good ,but somethin is not right something is wrong the server kick players if some one die--respawn--and undock the base its only when is a big pvp near the base. strange.

you can clearely see with 52 ppl online how much server load rise up.
I would put limit rather down to 40 Razz.

I still like better quality than big quantity and its also nice too see that 40 ppl is playing with no problem, than 52+ with some problems especially when its battle.

yeah maybe if u decrese more npcs that might boost up server performance for players. I dont really care how much npc is it, and if somebody care about npc, you can always meet them at the mission =), but still i am kinda not suprised why server have so big server load, its because mainly that time players come play after work/school and have battle than u can clearely see from graph it get some lag spikes. Which doesnt look good for missle users, of course gunners dont see the difference.

What is the problem? Only because you want to fight with Missle's, is the Admins to down-screw the NPC's? That should be probably a joke. And if it disturbs you, which yours oh so loved Missle's straightforward fly, then transfers to GunsO.

Well we already got a very good server performance at the moment...

lag spikes, yes, but the maximum lag spikes are around 80-90 msec, and those lags are not lasting long..
rocket-lag should be minimal!

Well we arent all gun fighters what would be the point all have same skill hehe. Server is handling very good in compare with other servers, and i didnt said its bad server or that they must change anything for me, i am just giving my opinion what could boost better performance on server.
As i said Sory i am not all high for the quantity, i like quality over all.
And low down your attitude from hostile to neutral Razz

As i said if u are only a gun fighter u dont notice the difference, but we who use missles do notice.

You are right wodka they apear some times but its also nasty they start apearing in some intervals. That time i rather not fight =) hehe, otherwise great server perfomance i must say, and i am looking forward it will get better and better Very Happy

I never wrote, oh badly missle's. I find it only boringly to fight with them, there one with Missle's hardly skill to custom, press button and that was it. To me now words into the mouth put, which I never expressed, borders already on stupidity.

btw how could you survive or kill somone in a PVP 1 vs 3 or more?
Without rockets or torpedos youre bantha poodoo
most pirate clans attacking in groups so you have to be rdy to strike back.
using missiles is not just fire and forget,you have to be tricky too.
only if people do fair PVP 1 vs 1..guns only makes sense...
but players should use what they want,thats what i think.

I aggre missles are part of the game, some players that arent so experinced with the game even they play 3 or more years and anybody who says that u just have to fire a missle and thats it: he is very wrong as he can be, i know that from my experince anybody who said missles are easy to use in the end when they try themself they dont know how to use.
Why ?
Missles are about timing if u dont have the timing no missle can help you not even cannonball or firestalker than there is another skill how to avoid missle, which most of people fail so they think they are too strong or unfair. Lol u said missles are boring ? i think they are the only thing that makes game fun, smacking a missle into somebodys face i love it, and why are we doing missions if not to buy a stock of missles. With guns only i can play broke...

Personally I think Torpedos require the most "skill".
Why?

1. You must have perfect timing to avoid wasp/hornet selfkills.
2. You have to fly in a special way so that torpedos actually can hit the enemy.
3. You must have the "skill" to avoid enemy missiles without wasp or hornet as defensive weapon.

In the end, missiles are just better torpedos and they even do not occupy the cruise disruptor slot.. so personally I can understand people calling excessive missile users fire&forget-noobs

This discussion about missles and guns was on many forums almoust 3 years... And most shortly and clear said [WP]Dragonfire- if you think that missle is just "press button and that was it"- you undestand nothing in missle fighting.
And when I hear "guns are for men"- I answer- "missles (or torps) are for adult men (or women Razz )

But to subject- really with full server its impossible to fight with missles, missle lag is great (for my bad connection especially), and even guns aim bad with high server load.
As far as I know- on other servers admins try reduce lags by:
1)reduce number of npc till minimum (on jolt you hardly meet npc in Theta)
2) delete all non-using chars (or exist less than 15-30 min). But on HHC as far as I know exist chars not using 1-1,5 year! (I found one my char 2 year, not used).
3) kick iddling players (now, when its hard to enter server, many players enter and leave to walk with their dog or to caffe...)

The amount of charfiles saved does not relate to the serverload performance in any way.
It only affects the loading time of the flserver at startup.

concerning npc reduction, we are working on something really cool, stay tuned

As regards idle kick: it is activated, though not always working

I love Hamburg City, nice ppl, much "extra" things to do becouse of LFCD and the website, only problem is that its "too popular", but when i dont play with my friends its just to try join in 10 - 20 min and u are in Smile

I've played on a few servers and must say this server is PERFECT in terms of lag.
In the month or so I've played here, I felt lag maybe 2-3 times.

Oh and, you downgraded the NPCs? Now I know why Omega 5 felt so empty today....IMO that's a bad idea, it makes the game dull. We're not all here to pvp you know. I was trying to find some Hessian ships to kill today to improve my rep with the Corsairs, and was surprised there weren't any in Omega 5. I waited 10 minutes for 3 of them to show up. Sucks....

This is a feature. Our server has his own brain. He's be able to detect
all human players and begin automatically to decrease npc ships to reduce
needlessly lags. Jubel

They have an intelligent concept imo , dynamic spawns of NPCs due to server load . Only problem is , server almost full from 12 to 12 = less NPCs Shocked .
The problems are the idlers , imo i can spot at least 10 of them everytime i can get on a full server , applies doesnt work either i think , unfortunatly .
