Note: This is a work in progress! The scenario is only 1/3 written. If the general feedback is good then I will continue to write the rest (and you are welcome to help!)

The event will try to replicate as close as possible three important events from the Freelancer story line that involve the Dom'Kavash artifact. The flow of the main storyline will be kept, however, due to balancing reasons, the details of each fight will be changed.

Everyone will be split up into two sides: Team Green and Team Red. Throughout the event you will NOT change your team. When registering you will be asked to state your PvP skill level: Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced (honest opinion please!). We will use this to hopefully create balanced teams. Remember this is not about "pwning" the other side, it's about having fun in what's possibly one of the last major events this server and Freelancer will see. It would also be nice if you could register with an RP name (e.g. Dexter_Cox) so that we avoid any vendettas during the event (e.g. "I don't want to be in the same team with that n00b!"). In the after party you may switch back to your regular characters.

Team Green will act as the 'good guys' who will try to escape with the artifact and finally assault Tekagi's arch for the proteous tome.
Team Red will act as the bad guys. In each phase of the event they will try to prevent the escape of Team Green.

The general engagement in all phases of the event will be as following:

There will be 5 attack waves / attempts to escape. At the beginning of each wave all both of the teams will place themselves on the starting positions respective for each phase. The organizers will signal the beginning of each wave and then all weapons will be hot. Please respect all the engagement rules and also the scenario for each phase!

The overall flow of the event will be the following:

    Start--->New York Escape--->Leeds Breakthrough--->Tohoku Planetary Arch Assault--->After party at HHC Liner
    *) Each of the phases will be detailed in the following subsections.
    **) Because of obvious reasons this flow will not change based on the outcome of each battle. This means that even if Team Green fails to escape from New York we will still go ahead with the Leeds breakthrough and so on. This is due to the fact that having alternate stories based on the outcome of each phase will greatly complicate or make the organization impossible.




    (0) Start: We will all gather in New York we will make sure that everyone is in their right team and has all the ships / equipment they will need during the event.

    (a) New York escape:

      (a1) All of Team Green undocks from Planet Manhattan. 1/2 of Team Red will be waiting outside and will intercept them.
      (a2) Both teams will engage each other. Theoretically Team Green should be able to win the engage with some losses.
      (a3) Once the area is clear, the remnants of Team Green is clear to proceed to West Point Military Academy.
      (a4) The other half of Team Red will be waiting at West point and will engage the remnant of Team Green
      (a5) The objective of Team Green at the moment is to escape to the Badlands (by taking the tradelane)
      (a6) Team Red is allowed to disrupt the trade lane. They are also allowed to use all their weaponry to stop Team Green
      (a7) A wave is considered a success for Team Green if at least one fighter makes it to the Badlands. If not, then the success goes to Team Red.

Event rules:


    1. Use of shield batteries / nanobots is strictly forbidden.
    * In order to prevent accidental or intentional use, you will be forbidden to carry any on your ship throughout the event.
    2. Respect the attack scenario written for each phase (That means if the attack involves you taking a certain trade lane, take it and do not go any other way)
    3. Re-entering combat immediately after you died is strictly forbidden.
    * When you die you will have to wait near your designated respawn point.
    * Once a round is finished you will be allowed to re-enter combat until you die again
    4. Use only the required ship and weapon load out imposed for your group. Follow the ammo restrictions.
    * 4 missiles, 4 mines, 2 cruise disrupters (no torpedoes allowed for ship-to-ship combat) for each round
    5. Do NOT SPAM the chat! You have to understand that you will be in a pretty big group of people. If everyone will talk at the same time, the event will fail because it will be impossible for the organizers to effectively communicate. Please use both the group and public chat only on a need only basis. If you need to communicate with a specific player, please consider using private messages. (Of course you will be free to do what your little heart wishes in the after party)

I like the general idea. Had a similar one, but since i have exams the day after i would not be able to organize much. But i will participate.
Though i have a question: Will we be forced to use a certain ship (e.g defender for NY)? Would be good in RP. Then i can also understand the no-torp restricition, although i really do not like it^^

as Bono said even 1st part of ur idea for event is great,but also as bono said i dont see why players can use misiles and no starkiller torp (3 for each round e.g.) ....
But thats is less important detail, the scenario of event is the most important , and this one looks very very intresting ...

At that level torpedoes are an overkill. (Yes I do intend to force people to use only certain types of ships).

Also, the intended use for a torpedo is to attack stationary / slow moving targets not other fast moving ships. As I said before, this event is about keeping thing as close as possible to the story line, not an "OH GAIS I CAN Pwnz0r 4ll!" galore.
