For those of us with higher end systems, the Detail mod included in this was a real blessing. However theres alot of little mods that i was already using/made to improve the effects of the game.

some of them do give minor advantages, but most of them just improve the look of the game.

Spinning planets. - this one serves no purpose, but is one of my favorites anyway. It just puts a little spin on all the planets. Its a very minor thing, but improves the asthetic of the game quite a bit.

Thruster effects - replacing default thruster effects with engines from various other ships. Could potentially give a small advatage on the off chance you run into someone NOT using an advanced thruster

there was a few other little things like changing weapon effect colors but i was just wondering if even little things like this where frowned upon.

Oh, and rotation. Spin your ship clockwise/countclockwise. - though this one could probably give you too big of an advantage if you know how to use it in fights.

I think its nothing wrong to have some cosmetics enabled that improve freelancer graphic as you wish, many ppl use why485 explosion effects and so on, even myself i was playing with them a bit to increase my freelancer gaming experience, perhaps you could show us if u got mod what all cosmetic improvements are you using so they check if its cool and as long it doesnt effect gameplay or give u any advantage in combat i dont think its a problem.

sadly, ive lost most of them, and im wondering if its worth the effert to rebuild/re-find them.

I did not make spinning planets originally, but i know hot to re-make it. I probably would have to do it in XML format for it to work the hamburg mod anyway.

Oh, i forgot one of my favorites.

colored tractor beams. Not visible to other players, but very fun.

I Do not currently recommend using this on any server with cheat protection. It shouldn't change anything that actually affects gameplay, but its possible it could still upset some server admins. Theoretically, it should be possible to mount this on top of any mod that does not change the tractor beam though.

There is spinning planets. This is NOT compatible with Hamburg City in its current format. I know how to re-write it into an XML file, but this just shows the basic format of what it will do.

I found another mod that included rotate, but i don't remember enough about it to isolate it. It thinks its just two files in the interface folder that get swapped out.

like i said, i don't recommend using it on servers with cheat protection, espically ones with something as extensive as here.

For the guy who uses the new explosions, where do i find that?
