Im gettting sick of keep posting about lag problems.

Firstly the bug when you sit still for 5 mins lag creeps up from 0 to lag 25%. This was fixed before but now it seems to be back. A bit annoying because it takes a few mins to clear once you start moving or fighting, so in the mean time someone will kick you for lag, even though almost everyone has lag. I got kicked 3x the other day because of this lag.

The other problem is that it is actually really laggy. Hard to hit other players due to them jumping around. Here is another example: i fire my missile, it sits on the spot, i overtake it and it shoots me in the back so i kill myself. Sounds funny doesnt it lol, but its damn annoying.

Anyway this lag has been very bad again for like 3 weeks and its not my internet, as i checked dfls and my ping was 52ms, on HHC my ping is like 65ms fluct 5, loss 2 , lag anything from 5 to 25%.

I also think due to this lag the lag kick comand should be disabled as a lot of people abuse it, even me beacuse i got kicked 3 times each time with a 5min ban. So i came back online and kicked them. So anyway its a stupid comand to let 1 player kick another, it should be up to the server to kick them and that has always worked fine in the past.

bla bla bla sick of typing, its just laggy crap at the minute.

p.s if any of you people dont get the lag then dont bother posting anything here.

My lagg i rather small, i can deal with this but I am interrested why i got it sometimes

Nope i dont think this is fair for the people who have no lagg, cause then they cannot do anything against attacking player who have high lagg.

OK , now serious : I have a perfect connection with 25ms , 0 , 0 , 0 and have this little jumps when NPC´s are coming . Do we need stronger hardware for the server ?

I also thought it was me, but I get ~3% lag everytime I log on. Which is kinda weird, cause I don't get it.
I have DSL 16K, and the distance between the server and me is less than 500KM. (My actual ping is between 20-28, now it's 33.)
I'm 100% sure it is not me, I can play games like COD4 smoothly.
The connections were good, until the last modupdate. (Also a strange bug shows up, which doesn't allow me to create new chars...
I get redlad like 15 times [I can even see the players chat/deathmessages/movement and all the stuff.] then I get kicked.

Since the last ModUpdate almost everybody I know complains about massive lags. Sometimes more, sometimes not so much but it seems like "the server lags".

Yeah my normal stats are now 40 4 2 3 , 2 weeks ago, they were 30 0 0 1
A little bit strange, but even worse for players far away from the Server.
Hope this will get fixed soon.

I guess the mod requires better hardware on the client side. Especially in Dublin, when BS, Cruisers and Frigates jump in I have quite aweful problems with an AMD 3500+/6600GT, but less on the laptop with a Core2Duo and onboard graphics.

I know i dont imagine things, because everytime im online i will ping atleast a dozen players and 9 out of 10 people will have anything from lag 5% to lag 20% or higher.

I know the server has had a lot of problems lately, like the other day, every 5 mins comes red lag for 30 secs or more then about 20 players get kicked. It seems to do this quite often like 2 or 3 times a week. But yet server load will say 15ms or 25ms which is fine.

Weird problems lol but it needs looking into i think.

I have some screenshots if you want to see my lag 25% then i ping it 30 secs later and then its lag 0%

Quite often I see everyone has 2% lag or more (upwards to 8% or so), but when it's more quiet most people /ping including myself have 0 0 0.

I can confirm pitch's statement. I even have problems with freelancer itself.. Sometimes it freezes when Im quitting the game, sometimes it doesnt.

And another annoying thingy concerns NPC's.. When they show up on my radar I get lag like shit.. all the time..

Conclusion.. Well I really appreciate all the upgrades of Hamurg city mod, troubles began since the last mod update, that is simple fact.

Also, sometimes my Freelancer crashes and I get "killed by server" when I try to undock from a planet. But I'm not sure whether that's on my end, or because of the mod/server.

So you exit game, then it wont re-launch, check task manager and its still running, using 50% of the cpu, end task, then it works fine again. There lots of little issues, although i have played freelancer for 5 years and only just started getting all these bugs and stuff recently lol.

yeah I experience the same problem aswell.. FL crashes to desktop, I try to launch it again, nothing... so I check out task manager and see that there is fl still runnin..

3-~% lag and 1-2% loss @evenings, everyday. Server is 70% full or more = no fun in playing.

Deactivating global server workaround fixes the low fps you get in mass fights after a while? It also fixes the lag? o_O
