HowTo: Avoid dangerous situations


I. General

1. The first thing you should do to avoid any dangerous situation is to keep silence. You might wonder: why? There are 2 good reasons:
a) Some of the people that are close to your location are busy with something else and as long as they don't see or hear you they won't even
know you are there. The result is that they don't have the intention at all to do anything that could have a negative effect to you.
b) Sometimes people that just come into situations and spam current discussion are not very welcome as well as people that do not know what is going on at all and try to discuss without knowing all facts. That leads to frustration and you might be harmed just for heating up a situation you haven't been a part of (Swearing and insulting has the same result, but works faster).

2. You should watch your environment: What is going on at the place I am now/I am heading to?
a) If the situation is very harmful: get the hell out of there/do not go there at all.
b) If the situation is safe: stay there and look for a safe route to your next destination/get there as fast as possible.
c) If the situation is risky: sneak off to a safer place/avoid going there if possible.
d) If the situation is uncertain: don't stay for long, just do your business/pay attention.

3. You should know your skills and equipment:
Is your equipment better/same/worse than your possible enemy? Do you master your equipment in a way so your enemy will loose/you are equal/you loose for sure? The point why i mention this at last is quite clear: Avoiding at all costs, fighting as the last resort.


II. Paranoia

How paranoid are you and what are the consequences?

a) total paranoid
Everyone is classed as enemy. If you meet anyone anywhere you run like hell. This is the best way for newcomers. You do not know anyone, so you do not know who is dangerous or not. Or maybe you are somebody who is hunted by everyone.

b) semi-paranoid
Larger groups/clans than those you can just run away from are not to see or hear from you at all. You class small groups and single people as neutral. Occasionally you still may be harmed, so pay attention.

c) little paranoid
You know a few groups/clans/players and know what kind of reputation you have: prey/neutral/friend (maybe you have a list that you have quick access to). You try to avoid the unfriendlier ones at all cost and try to be around those that maybe tear the unfriendly ones away or protect you.

d) careless
You do not care who is around you because they can't harm you/you do not care what happens/you know they dont care about you. In this case it's interesting that you even read this far. Maybe it will help in other situations.


III. Route Planning

Check I. and II. first before planning anything, else you can't plan because you do not know what you want to.

1. Check your destination for enemies (See I.2.). There is no use to run to a destination if you do not know for sure you can get out of there again. Also check for alternative destinations.

2. At first try to figure out which is the fastest route. The faster you reach the destination the less time the enemy has to interfere.

3. Check your route for possible enemies/support and look for alternative routes. This is a dynamic process, keep whatching while you are moving.

4. Check the people you might get across, maybe you can prevent being harmed in some way although they are your enemies (everyone got a price!).


IV. Running

This is the situation you didn't want to get in at all. Do whatever is need to get away.
a) Spill ammo/cargo/money/alcohol
b) Get another prey that tears your enemy away so you loose their attention.
c) Try to get nearby help.
d) Slow down your enemy in any possible way.


After reading this care less or cry less! It's up to you now.

Reminds me of one time in gamma...
1. somebody starts flaming because ppl "blocked" the bar
2. reaction: there isn't enough space for more than 1 person in the bar.. (friendly explanation)
3. somebody starts talking about his "awesome" weapons... (sounding like wanting to provoke or challenge ppl)
4. somebody gets killed (multiple times)
5. somebody starts swearing...
6. somebody gets his wing clipped off and docks with it, resulting in even more flame/swaring/spam...

Just don't do things like that please
