Titel: temporary jumphole - capital ships hypergate window

Greetz
I was thinking capital ships could have hypergate drive option where they could engage with command where they want to jump and by jumping it would cost fuel which could be in cargohold of battleship or cruiser.

good idea.
i think it only should be for clanbattleships.
maybe you can create a new good, which you only can buy on the clanbase and which is expensive, too.
also you should pay for the lenght of the jump, means jumping over 5 systems is expensiver then jumping over 2.
another limit: just useable for 1 time in 24h or so...

Ich find die Idee super ^^
Als Zeit für so nen Sprung könnte man einstellen wie das Tarnen eines Cloakschiffes
Und man kann nur MAXIMAL 1 System weit springen, um laming vorzubeugen könnte man evtl einstellen das so weiter der Sprung weg geht, mehr zeit benötigt wird.

Freelancer means Fighter versus Fighter and Trading.
The BS are though enough a new Oportunity like this makes them to mighty. |

Per Hook wäre das wohl möglich, allerdings würde ich höchstens einen Sprung über ein System pro "Leben" erlauben.

Guess it is just as a kinda "beam"-option possible so you'll get docked on a different base in another system.
but battleships just may dock at the clanbase, so it's a pretty nice idea but just an idea and if I'm right it will just everytimes an idea. xD

i read article about it once
temporary jump hole was created when u typed command, in command were specification of exiting coordinates. jumpholes were ofcourse invisible for client, but it was working like docking to jh
You could make penalty or sometnhing per jump
it was like /jump system xx,yy |

Nice idea.
The BS would need it's cargohold full of fuel in order to jump. After the jump the fuel is gone and needs to be resupplied in order for the BS to be able to jump again. Since the BS cannot dock anywhere, smaller vessels need to haul the fuel, which can take some time if those ships have to fly to the BS' location manually, making the battleship pretty vulnerable.
But it could be made so that when the battleship jumps, the entire battlegroup jumps with it. A battlegroup could consist of the BS itself (obviously) and any other 5 ships within 1k radius of the BS that are of the same clan as the BS.
Don't know if FLHook has come far enough to be able to put the BS at specified coordinates in another system. If it has, BS commander could enter something like /jump NY C5 -2000, which would make the battleship (and it's battlegroup) jump to the New York system to coordinate C5 and 2k below the horizontal plane. Values could / should have limits thou. |

Stupidity should be punished
But I just figured BS jumping with it's battlegroup would create a huge exploit. Stock up the BS with fuel, have 5 trains nearby which are full of Alien Organisms from Beta, jump to Cambridge, sell Organisms, refill the BS, jump back to Beta, repeat...
Unless Transports and other vessels with large cargoholds can be excluded from the battlegroup. |

Well u dont have to overreact, i dont want to overpower battleship, and neuther i thing freelancer definition is little more than just fighter vs fighter and trading, freelancer is space simulation...
hyperwindow wouldnt make Battleship or cruiser to mighty because it doesnt effect combat only ways to travel through systems. Battleship and cruisers are both carriers and would give them sense to jump between systems using own hyperwindow.
For every jump as i said battleship or cruiser should buy hfuel in cargo hold, bigger its jump more fuel it would need for jump. That means with cargo like battleship (500) can jump more systems than cruiser with (200). |

... or are only allowed to take fuel for the BS with them. Then the clan has to decide if they take fighters along for better protection but slower resupply of the BS, or more freighters, which reverse the circumstances, but are vulnerable themselves. |
